- Applications for the following faculties should identify the broad subject area they wish to research:
- Faculty of science, Agriculture& Engineering.
- Faculty of Medical Science.
- IELTS 6.5 with no sub-component less than 5.5, TOEFL 90 (Internet-based). All applications shall apply for entry to Newcastle using Newcastle's online entry application forms, inserting the code 'KAU' to facilitate application tracking and accompanying their application form with a copy of their approval letter from KAU which will be uploaded onto Newcastle's online entry application.

- The student shall be exempt from the United Kingdom residency requirement but, may spend some time at Surrey in accordance with UK Visas and Immigration requirements.
- The student must meet Surrey's required standard of both spoken and written English language as evidenced by IELTS scores or equivalent, at the point at which they register with Surrey.

- Candidates must specify their proposed area of research, and supply academic transcripts and two academic references when submitting their application.
- Students will apply to the programme by 30th March each year.

- The nominated supervisor should engage in pre-enrollment dialogue to ensure an acceptable working relationship and to confirm overlapping research interests and agree on the scope of the Student project in advance. It is recommended that supervisors meet at least by video conference prior to the Student's acceptance and at least in person prior to the student's registration.

- The research student will be required to follow the normal application procedures and satisfy the admission requirements currently in force at Aberdeen for an approved doctoral degree programme.
- The research student shall be registered as a full-time postgraduate research student at Aberdeen fir the duration. Should the Researcher Student spend any periods of time at KAU, the Researcher Student shall remain registered with Aberdeen full-time postgraduate research student and shall apply to study off-campus for the period spent at KAU.
